Many cases today involve more electronic files than traditional paper files. Benchmark is able to convert over 300 unique file types to TIFF or PDF images. If need be, we can also convert such files onto paper. 

The “open and print” method of electronic discovery is costly and an extremely inefficient process. This process involves opening electronic documents, printing them to paper, scanning the paper to image, coding the documents, and processing them through OCR with the rest of the paper documents involved in the case. Benchmark is able to simplify this process by converting these electronic files into  an image-enabled, fully-searchable, full-text and metadata database linked to TIFF images. Your data can then be exported into virtually any database application such as Concordance, Summation, JFS Litigator's Notebook, Introspect, etc. All this can be done for a fraction of the cost of the open and print method. With each project, Benchmark offers:

FILE LIST REPORT - A report may be provided of every file, including the file size, name and type of file, on any type of media you wish to have processed. This report will aid you in determining which files may be most important to process, thus saving you valuable time and money.

DE-DUPLICATION - We use each document's digital fingerprint to determine duplicate documents. De-duplication can greatly reduce the volume of documents that must be converted. For emails, the fields considered when fingerprinting include the Body, Subject, To, From, CC, BCC, Sent date, and all attachments. When fingerprints match, documents are flagged as duplicates.

BATES/ELECTRONIC NUMBERING - Each page may be assigned a number that can be burned onto the images. Text like "confidential" can also be burned in.

META-DATA - This is the document source information.  Some of the data that may be captured are creation date, last printed date, last accessed date, last saved date, author, recipient, CC, BCC, full text. Our software processes the information without changing the often times critical metadata, unlike if done manually.
